Here's MY toast you Moose.

Moose it's been great what can I say.

With any pitcher their bound to have ups and downs..but last year i think we saw that once, maybe twice. If he does in fact decide to retire, we will with out a doubt, miss him. The man has been a personal idol to me, more than anyone else.

I really can't say why either.

But I can say he would be someone I would try to emulate if I were in the MLB. He's always been a reliable pitcher and you would almost always see him on the mound when it was his turn. Moose has been able to avoid any arm problems due to his almost perfect mechanics.

Also, I have to say one of my favorite things about him was he that never sugar-coated anything he said. If he had a bad outing he would tell you straight up why and would not make excuses..

Throughout his career he's been Mr. Almost. Almost threw a no-hitter, almost won 20 games (until now), almost won a World Series (2001), and you probably could other find other "Almost" facts.

He's also averaged 209.5 innings a season with seven chances to win 20 games. Moose owns a 3.42 ERA in postseason play. But to me it's been his ability to not walk people that has impressed me the most.

He's been able to field his position extremely well which we know due to his seven Gold Gloves.

He's pitched in the "Steriod Era" and has never been accused of using them. He could have been pitching against hitters AND pitchers who were on the juice.

Pitchers like him, I believe, should be in the HoF and not by numbers alone. Towards the end of his career he didn't blow a 95 mph fastball by you to start an at-bat, maybe a 69 mph knuckle-curve or change-up instead.

He may not have had the greatest stuff but he found ways to fight his way through.
The thing for me is that, you could be a power pitcher and not have it that game but still be able to blow fast-balls by people. But does that truly make you good? For a guy like Mussina you HAVE to have your control, if you don't have it, get ready for a shower.

I don't care what anyone else says, Michael Cole Mussina is a Hall of Famer to me.
Let me just say "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE" one last time.
